Hi I'm Rod
I'm the DRMZ SPO (Stake Pool Operator) and I love teaching. I founded DRMZ in 2021 to find like-minded people on Cardano that are using cryptocurrency to manifest their dreams.
Stake pools are responsible for keeping the Cardano network secure, decentralized, & processing blocks via the Ouroboros consensus protocol.
Cardano is a PoS (Proof of Stake) blockchain, meaning rather than consuming lots of energy and solving complex mathmetical puzzles to validate transactions, Cardano uses the SPOs to agree on the transactions and blocks that are processed. Long story short, we keep the network up to date and always running.
Cardano holders delegate their ADA to SPOs. The more ADA the SPO has delegated to their stake pool, the more likely they are chosen to produce blocks and get rewarded. When you delegate your ADA, it never leaves your wallet and you can still spend it at any time. This concept is called liquid staking.
We've built a pretty cool crypto community
Since 2021 we've grown by hosting local web3 events in San Diego and Los Angeles. We usually just meet up for drinks and talk about NFTs, meme coins, and the latest crypto drama.
But we also spend lots of time focusing on education by doing presentations about Cardano tech, regulary hosting X spaces, getting involved in the Cardano governance process, onboarding new users with free ADA & NFTs, and answering any questions from people that are new.
